El Segundo Blue Butterfly Poetry Walk

  • Date: 04/19/2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Tentative Event No

Meets at the 600 block of West Imperial Avenue between Loma Vista and Hillcrest.

Join El Segundo Poet Laureate Kweku Abimbola and Master Gardener Barbara Boland as they lead us on a short walk-through Memory Tree Row. Participants will observe nature while considering it a source of inspiration for creative work while getting to see and hear about environmental restoration efforts of the Blue Butterfly Conservancy group. Kweku Abimbola will then lead participants through a brief journal exercise, dialog and poetry writing inspired by their observations of nature around them.

Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook, pens or pencils, a towel, beach blanket, or beach chair to sit on, along with a light snack and bottled water.

This event is FREE and welcomes all ages.
The Poet Laureate Program is funded by the City’s Cultural Development Program.
