May is Older Americans Month, a perfect opportunity to show our appreciation for the older adults in our community. The theme for Older Americans Month 2025 is "Flip the Script on Aging" which focuses on transforming how society perceives, talks about, and approaches aging.

Every year, the City of El Segundo Recreation, Parks & Library Department solicits nominations for the El Segundo Older American of the Year. A selection committee determines the winner and they will be honored at the annual Elderfest Celebration in El Segundo. Elderfest will be held on Saturday, May 17th at the Joslyn Center. All older Americans in the community are invited to attend the event to help celebrate the El Segundo Older American of the Year and receive a free lunch.

Nomination forms are due by Friday, April 18th at 5:00pm. Nomination forms can be found here or at the Joslyn Center.

To RSVP for the luncheon or for more information, please call 310-524-2705 or visit the Joslyn Center.
