The repair of distressed walls and surfaces at Recreation Park will begin in early March 2026 and continue through late June 2026, weather permitting. Work will occur in phased areas to minimize disruptions.

The City of El Segundo’s contractor, Golden Gate Construction, Inc., will repair and rehabilitate distressed walls, stairs, curbs, guardrails, retaining walls, and related concrete and masonry surfaces throughout Recreation Park. Improvements will address cracking, spalling, deteriorated masonry, and structural surface damage to enhance public safety and extend the service life of park facilities.

Areas to be repairs include:

• George E. Gordon Clubhouse
• Joslyn Center
• George Brett Field, Stevenson Field, & Softball Field
• Tennis Courts -Hockey and Basketball Courts
• Pickleball, Volleyball, and Paddle Tennis areas

The project addresses aging infrastructure and deteriorated structural elements to improve public safety, accessibility, and long-term park durability while maintaining high-quality recreational facilities for the community.
