Director of Public Works Elias Sassoon submitted a letter on behalf of the City of El Segundo, to the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board on October 24, 2022 in regards to Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit renewal.

The letter itemizes the 33 recommendations made by the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee following the July 11, 2021 incident and requests that Hyperion implement these recommendations in a timely manner and regularly update the public about the status of their implementation.
