Congratulations to Hugo Perez on his promotion to Police Captain!

Hugo began his career in 1995, with the South Gate Police Department after graduating from the Rio Hondo Police Academy. He later worked for the Irvine and Monrovia Police Departments before transferring to ESPD In 2003 where he worked in Patrol, Detectives, and as a Field Training Officer. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2011, and Lieutenant in 2019, where he worked in both Field Operations and Administrative Services Bureau.

Hugo holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the USC Marshall School of Business. Hugo is also a proud graduate of the USC Delinquency Control Institute (DCI), Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI), and CA POST Management Program.
