The much anticipated arrival of Topgolf El Segundo is one step closer to reaching the finish line. On Wednesday, April 14, the El Segundo City Council along with Topgolf and McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. representatives debuted a virtual groundbreaking video on the City's Facebook @cityofelsegundo and YouTube pages.
The virtual groundbreaking celebrates the start of construction of what will be the only state-of-the-art golf and entertainment venue in the South Bay, and the only Topgolf facility with an adjacent nine-hole golf course. Once the facility is complete in May 2022, it is expected to bring hundreds of new jobs and generate up to $2 million per year in new revenues for the City of El Segundo.
Those featured in the virtual groundbreaking ceremony include:
El Segundo City Council: Mayor Drew Boyles, Mayor Pro Tem Chris Pimentel, Councilmember Carol Pirsztuk, Councilmember Scott Nicol, and Councilmember Lance Giroux
Cameron Kilar, Project Manager McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
Janelle Tod, Lead Estimator, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
Craig Kessler, Chief Operating Officer, Topgolf
Due to social distancing protocols in place as a result of the pandemic, the groundbreaking transitioned to a virtual event to prevent the transmission of the virus.
